Picture it, October 2016, and a 20-year-old Jacalyn had just discovered the Inktober challenge. The rest was history.
This was my first time participating in Inktober and it will always hold a precious place in my heart because it was a turning point in how I use art-using it as a medium to tell stories. Before this, I stuck to creating fan art but never had considered creating original characters.
As an additional challenge, I paired the inktober prompts with fantasy prompts from another art challenge running concurrently, resulting in paired words like Scout/Battle, Beast Lord/Little, and Aristocrat/ One Dozen.
